European Parliament President visits Lisbon for leadership meetings

2026年6月26日、欧州議会のロベルタ・メツォラ議長は、欧州連合とポルトガルの関係を強化するため、リスボンを公式訪問しました。
On June 26, 2026, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola made an official visit to Lisbon to strengthen ties between the European Union and Portugal.
この訪問の主要なハイライトは、ポルトガルの欧州経済共同体加盟40周年を記念する記念銘板の除幕式でした。
A central highlight of the trip was marking the 40th anniversary of Portugal’s accession to the European Economic Community with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
メツォラ議長は訪問中、ジョゼ・ペドロ・アギアル＝ブランコ共和国議会議長やマデイラ諸島およびアゾレス諸島の地域指導者らをはじめとする主要な人物と高レベルの協議を行いました。
Throughout her visit, President Metsola engaged in high-level discussions with key figures, including the President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, and the regional leaders of Madeira and the Azores.
また、ビジネス・ラウンドテーブル・ポルトガルや消防士組織の代表者との会談も日程に組み込まれ、社会の多様なセクターへの取り組み姿勢を強調しました。
Her agenda also included meetings with the Business Roundtable Portugal and representatives of the Firefighters organization, highlighting her commitment to diverse sectors of society.
